When the Cyclops returns, he offers him wine. The monster asks his name: "Nobody is my name," replies the cunning warrior. Then he and his men, taking advantage of the Cyclops' sleep, seize the stake, harden it in fire and drive it into the giant's eye. The Cyclops screams in pain. The neighboring Cyclopes come running. "It's Nobody who's killing me!" he announces. So the Cyclopes leave. Ulysses and his companions hide among the flock of rams to escape.
